Astrological Principles of Relationships

Interest in astrological phenomenon has reached nearly astronomical levels. Pick up any daily or weekly paper and you will find a horoscope. And one hears friends discussing ascendants and ruling houses; some even discuss squares and oppositions and trining and sextiling. And yet very few know how to read a chart and there is a still smaller number who know how to use the information on the chart to improve their life. A chart is a comparison of Planets and Houses, and a report is the interpretation of that chart.

There is yet another phenomenon that is mushrooming everywhere. This is the growing use of personal ads. People are looking for other people for companionship, for love and for even more perverse reasons. For whatever reasons people write these ads and for whatever reasons others respond to these ads, the fact is, these ads are everywhere. A sign of the isolation of the times, I suppose. And people seldom seem to find the right person, at least not immediately. I think this is because people settle for what does not really satisfy, or become seduced by a dream, or are so desperate for love they willingly accept any pain involved. For people have the habit of changing too. And what was right yesterday may not be right today, but then one must ask the question, was it really right yesterday? Ahh, but how can one know? In Astrology, I believe, we find a partial answer, at least.

"Astrologically, each individual is represented by a chart of the planets and houses at the moment of his birth. By comparing and contrasting the interrelationships of two separate charts, the astrologer can reveal the many ways and many levels that two people relate with each other. This is the astrological art of synastry as it has been practiced for several thousand years. "

Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius, which is the new age we are now entering. Uranus also rules Technology and Astrology and this planet is now in the sign of Aquarius where it has been for the past four years! Look around you, what is happening? More people are looking to the Net for relationships and this is where *this* Astrologer found his poet by using the Astrological Principles of Relationships. These principles include:

1. Choose someone who's Sun is in the same element as yours:

Water : Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces
Air : Libra, Aquarius and Gemini
Earth : Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo
Fire : Aries, Leo and Sagittarius

2. Look for complementary aspects between the planets Mars and Venus between charts.

3. Check for Sun, Moon, Mars, or Venus, in the First or Seventh Houses between charts and also in complementary elements.

The First House relates to who you are and the Seventh House relates to your relationships with others.

Other combinations that sometimes work out great are fire with air, or earth with water, or signs that are back to back (i.e. Capricorn and Aquarius) which gives the possibility that their respective Suns will make conjunction aspects to Mercury and Venus in each other's charts. "Remember that every relationship contains points of similarity and harmony as well as points of conflict and discord. Through understanding, it is possible to cultivate and encourage the positive and harmonious, and keep relationships growing and fruitful through the highs and lows of the passing years."

The above principles are of course brief and simplified, based on a take no chances attitude. Many great relationships do not have the Sun in the same element and many have similar challenging aspects. The thing one does find in relationships is plenty of variety but no perfection. All relationships require attention and work, it is just that some require much less!
