"The IF in the middle of l(if)e."

A small collection of poems

L(if)e is all about choices you can start by choosing the background color here

sometimes it seems that life is spelled with a little *elle*

l(if)e (little "elle")

"Sometimes it seems l(if)e is spelled with a little elle"

..welcome to a brand new world,
hello brave boy, hello bold girl.

Welcome to Earth this day of your birth.
Special to you, the world is brand new.
Childhood innocence, they played and pretended,
childhood innocence reality ended.

"LEARN AT YOUR SCHOOL"
study, read, write, no longer a child, an adult not quite.

"WORK AT YOUR JOB"
follow the rules in the company of the fools.....
....retire when you're 65 (that is if you're still alive)
too young to die, too old to work.
alone in the garden where once serpents lurked.
now, you'll have time to ponder out loud,
on what you have done, of what you are proud.
....the answer is nothing,
nothing, you'll say with a sigh.
And very soon after, poor baby, you'll die.

Just Bricks in Time's Wall

>

Time breaks the walls of bricks and stones
and time will crush our flesh and bones.
Time does not love a wall.
Time does not love at all.

Time does not love a wall.

All the walls will surely fall,
just crushed to dust at time's cruel call.
Life can be tough and death is grim.
Death always comes at time's cruel whim.

Most people live their lives each day
until their lives are lived away.
We'll live, we'll cry and then we'll die
as mortals do though none know why.

I now know without a doubt
all walls will fall within and out.
Time does not love a wall.
Time can not love at all.

Freedom's Journey by Tamara Ann Gerth of Tag N' Dragon's Ink

FREEDOM'S JOURNEY

...it seems so long ago, but it hasn't happened yet.
a moment to remember, a moment to forget...

It started on its journey some uncounted years ago.
Learned to fight, yes to survive, and damned the river's flow.
Unwanted as a baby, mistreated as it grew.
Standing on the outside, see sadness, paint it blue.
Growing up so quickly, so much quicker than its years.
Learned to always show a smile, and to somehow hide the tears.
One day it watched a mirror and the mirror watched it back.
All alone in such a crowd, a mirror painted black.
Yes it died awhile ago, but I still hear its cries.
A moment to remember, for the mirror never lies.

You are my mirror

YOU ARE MY MIRROR

What do you fear when you look in the mirror ?
(seeing me, seeing me, say I saw infinity
it's big and scary, terrifying,
I am a part in struggle trying
of infinity's domain.)

Mirror, mirror on the door
cracking with a lightning score
do I fear you any more ?
Mirror, mirror on the floor.

YOU ARE MY MIRROR

Moth am I a flame,
to sear and scorch,
am I to blame ?

I can't promise you won't be hurt,
and so surmise you'll be alert.
Mirror, mirror why can't I see
how others see when seeing me ?

(Mirror, mirror, count the cost
the war is won, the war is lost
it's not wrong, it's not right
it's who all is left to fight.)

It's a battle in infinity for the moment and the day,
A journey in uncertainty, but look, I'm on my way.
I am on a journey, on a quest to never fear;
perhaps I'm not so awful, thank you, thank you, mirror.
